Cook Where
It All Began.
From a lively local market to a family kitchen in the heart of Coyoacán — experience the real flavors of Mexico, made from scratch, just like our grandmothers taught us.
Generations of Passion,
One Family Kitchen.
I was born in Mexico City, where my earliest memories are woven with music, flavors, and the sound of laughter echoing from the kitchen. My mother’s family carried the spirit of Oaxaca; my father’s family brought the bold soul of Coahuila. And through my grandmother Meya, I inherited a culinary heritage that traveled mountain paths and crossed generations.
After two decades living in Tulum and sharing these traditions with the world, we are now bringing Rivera Kitchen to its birthplace — Mexico City. Come into our home, put on your apron, and let’s cook something extraordinary together.

Before we cook, we shop. We begin with a guided walk through one of Mexico City’s most authentic local markets, where you’ll learn to identify indigenous chiles, pick the freshest produce, and understand why ingredient quality is the true foundation of Mexican cuisine.
Chile Education
Learn to classify fresh and dried chiles — the heart of Mexican cooking — and discover their regional differences.
Ancient Ingredients
Meet the pre-Hispanic staples: masa, epazote, huitlacoche, nopales — and why they matter.
Artisanal Finds
We source artisanal cheese, hand-ground masa, and seasonal produce — nothing from a supermarket.

Real Stories from
Real Kitchens.
The chef was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. She shared family stories behind every dish — this was so much more than a cooking class, it was a real cultural exchange.
From the market walk to sitting down together to eat, every moment felt authentic. We made the best guacamole of our lives in a molcajete. I will be recommending this to everyone visiting Mexico City!
You’re not in a tourist kitchen — you’re in someone’s real home. The intimacy, the food, the stories, the recipes emailed after… honestly the best thing we did in all of Mexico.
